DESETR LANDSCAPES

The Atacama Desert (Chile)

It extends in the north of Chile, covering an area of about 105 000 km²








Description: It covers the regions of Arica and Parinacota, Tarapaca, Antofagasta, Atacama and the northern region of Coquimbo. Includes all coastal deserts of Chile and Peru for its part, the National Geographic Society believes that the Peruvian coastal area is part of the Atacama Desert.



Climate: Rains once every 15 or 40 years. There have been periods of 400 years without rain.
At night there is 25 degrees, and the day the temperature can be up to 50 degrees.
The air humidity is 18% inside.
